For elementary & middle school band players (Grades 5-8) who have 2+ years experience on their instrument. Guitar, bass, piano welcome!

FULL Payment is required by the close of registration; otherwise, enrollment will be cancelled.

Campers must provide own lunch.

Featuring Our 2026 JazzJam! Masterclasses:

  • Jon Smith started studying bass with Ken Smith of the legendary bass company, Ken Smith Basses, at the age of 5. He attended the University of the Arts from 2005-2009 and has performed and recorded with artists such as Birdy, Jazmine Sullivan, Pete Rock, Madison Ryann Ward, Raheem Devaughn, Charity, Kindred and the Family Soul, Corey Bernhard, Flanafi, Steve Mckie, Hiruy Tirfe, Eric Wortham, Laurin Talese, and many others.

  • Dr. Chelsea Green — a prolific violinist, entrepreneur, leader, and professor at Berklee College of Music —  made history by becoming the first Black woman and the youngest person to be elected for the prestigious position of the Recording Academy's Board of Trustees Chair. She brings a rare blend of real-world experience and educational insight to her role, recognizing the urgent need to invest in the next generation while also uplifting those currently shaping the music landscape.

  • Keith Phelps is a trailblazing entertainment executive whose vision and leadership for the newly founded RMA Music Group are redefining the industry landscape. With an illustrious career spanning 17 years, Keith's entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering commitment to artistic excellence have propelled him to the forefront of the music industry, excelling in songwriting, record production, and award-winning film compositions.

    His astute guidance and strategic vision have led to groundbreaking project contributions for a diverse array of artists, including Ayo & Teo, Crystal Kay, Anderson .Paak, T.I., Patti LaBelle, Hiruy Tirfe, Jon B., Haley Reinhart, Bob James, and Jeff Bradshaw. Under Keith's pioneering stewardship, RMA Music Group is slated to become a bastion of creativity and innovation, fostering an environment that nurtures and elevates top-tier talent.

  • Ms. Goldberg’s masterclass topic will be “The Team Behind the Musician.” Marjorie Goldberg was raised in the Philadelphia area. She studied viola and music education at The Hartt School of Music in Connecticut. For over 35 years, Marjorie has been a performer in prominent Pennsylvania orchestras, a music educator and an active freelancer. Marjorie is a member of the viola sections in the Harrisburg Symphony and The Philly Pops. She also performs with and arranges music for Ani Kinor, a chamber ensemble at Congregation Rodeph Shalom in Philadelphia. In addition, she performs with many other ensembles in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.. In 2019 Marjorie was elected to the position (which she still holds) of Vice President of the Philadelphia Musicians’ Union, Local 77-274 of the American Federation of Musicians.

Meet Hiruy Tirfe, Camp Director &
Musical Mastermind Behind JazzJam! Camp Magic

Hailing from the vibrant city of Philadelphia and raised in Upper Darby, Hiruy Tirfe is not just a saxophonist; he’s a musical force to be reckoned with. Tirfe has graced the stage with a diverse array of artists, from The Roots and Solange Knowles to Patti LaBelle and beyond. As a former protégé of Upper Darby’s MusicMan, Brad Schoener, Tirfe’s musical journey has been nothing short of spectacular.

His list of accolades includes being a two-time “Outstanding Soloist” winner at the Next Generation Jazz Festival in 2016 and 2017. Tirfe has left his musical imprint on iconic venues such as Radio City Music Hall, Made In America Festival, AfroPunk Festival, and the John F. Kennedy Center, just to name a few.
