Location: Beverly Hills Middle School, 1400 Garrett Rd, Upper Darby, PA 19082MusicMan Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered Strings Lead Teacher to join our summer teaching team. This role is ideal for both experienced music educators and emerging teachers who want to grow their practice in a collaborative, creative camp environment.
What You’ll Do
Lead string students in small-group and large-group instruction
Direct or support sectionals and ensemble rehearsals
Design and submit daily lesson plans aligned with camp goals
Collaborate with the Camp Director and instructional team to create a cohesive musical experience
Support assistant teachers in implementing lesson plans
Foster a positive, encouraging, and well-managed learning environment
Connect section instruction to broader camp ensemble and performance experiences
Who We’re Looking For
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or equivalent professional experience
Specialization in strings (violin, viola, cello, and/or bass)
Experience or comfort teaching at the beginning and intermediate level
Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans
Strong communication, classroom management, and collaboration skills
Preferred:
Experience teaching in camps, schools, or group lesson settings
Experience directing or coaching ensembles
Experience working with students of varied backgrounds and learning styles
